My name is Christine and I am the Nursery Manager at Sunnybank and have been for the last 4 years, driving the Nursery forward. I have been at Sunnybank my whole career, starting as a Nursery Assistant for Maternity Cover over 11 years ago! My son Bailey attended Sunnybank from being 7 months old; although he is nearly 8 now he still talks fondly of his 'Sunnybank teachers' and the time he spent there. He has returned frequently during school holidays since, continuing to enjoy the ;earning opportunities we provide. Myself and the setting have journeyed together over this time, my ethos throughout being to strive for better outcomes and experiences for the children in our local community. We were duly rewarded in July 2019, when our hard work and dedication paid off and we were recognised by OFSTED as being an outstanding setting.
My name is Alice Allen and I am the Deputy Manager at Sunnybank Nursery. I started at Sunnybank as a student from Chesterfield College and got offered a full time position as a Nursery Practitioner back in 2010. My other main roles within Nursery are Designated Safeguarding Lead and Curriculum Support. Since starting at Sunnybank it has been lovely seeing the Nursery progress and finally being recognised as an outstanding setting which is thoroughly deserved. Sunnybank is not just work to me, it is also family and I love to see how the children develop throughout their time with us.
My name is Gemma; I have been part of the Sunnybank team for around 20 years. Sunnybank supported me through my NVQ L3 and when I was qualified I became a Team Leader. I have four children of my own and each of them attended Sunnybank and enjoyed their time here. My children still talk about the fun times they had whilst at Sunnybank. I am now Officer in Charge and lead the Rabbits group (2-3 years). I have a passion to care for animals, having recently added a horse named Bella to our family. Sunnybank has always been a home from home environment and I have seen many happy children go on to thrive at school.
My name is Claire; I have been working with Sunnybank over7 years and have loved my time working with all of my colleagues. I started in 2012-2013 as a student whilst I completed my level 3 diploma qualification. I continue to do more training that will support me. I am now Team Leader in the pre school and I enjoy it so much. My own daughter Aimee has attended since being 9 months old and cannot wait for her 'Nursery days' each week! I love working with all the children and their families, helping the children grow as individuals.
My name is Larissa and I have been at Sunnybank Nursery since January 2017. I joined Sunnybank straight from Chesterfield College, and over the past few years I have expanded on my own training to support me in taking the roles of SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-Ordinator) and Team Leader of the Baby Bunnies. I really enjoy the day to day activities I can plan and provide and enjoy encouraging the children to learn and experience new opportunities through play; especially the messy play! Outside of Nursery I enjoy socialising with my colleagues and friends and spending time with my younger siblings.
I'm Emma and I work in the Mini's group. My son Ellis had been attending Sunnybank for two years when I found the advert for an apprentice position within the Nursery. Sunnybank had been such positive time during Ellis's life I was sure I could not let the opportunity pass! I gained my level 3 qualification whilst working at Sunnybank and I'm currently training to become Deputy SENDCo. In my spare time I enjoy spending my time going for family walks.
My name is Dianne and my role at Sunnybank is Nursery Cook. I prepare all snacks and meals at Nursery from scratch and enjoy providing healthy and wholesome meals for the children. I like to spend time in the groups baking with the children or making tea together. Two of my four grandchildren have attended Sunnybank and this has set them up with a solid foundation on their educational journeys.
My name is Louise Barker and I am an Early years Practitioner in the Rabbits group at Sunnybank. I have worked at Sunnybank for just over a year after completing my L3 EYE at Chesterfield College. I enjoy taking an active interest in my own personal development and as such I am always looking for training and ideas to develop my skills, in turn promoting the care, welfare and learning opportunities for my key children. I am a very creative person and enjoy lot's of arts and craft hobbies during my spare time.
I'm Iona and I am a L3 Practitioner at Sunnybank, having joined in early 2019. I currently work with our 1-2yr olds in the Mini's group, and enjoy helping them develop their prime skills such as relationship building, listening and communicating and gross and fine motor skills. I am the setting Home Learning Co-Ordinator and enjoy sharing tasks with our parents to help support their learning and development at home. Outside of Nursery I enjoy spending time with my partner and my family in the countryside.
My name is Taylor and I am an Early Years Practitioner at Sunnybank Nursery. I am currently based in the Hares, our pre-school room, supporting Claire each day. I also hold the role of Literacy and Maths Co-ordinator, which often includes assessing staff development needs, children's tracking, analysing gaps in development and providing new, exciting and creative ways to learn these skills. I love being part of the Sunnybank team and helping our future generations to grow!
My name is Georgia; I am an Early Years Practitioner based in the Rabbits room. I began my role at Sunnybank in September 2019, after completing my Level 3 EYE qualification at Chesterfield College. Initially taken on as Maternity Cover, I feel extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to join the Sunnybank Team permanently from June 2020. Although Iam both new to childcare and the team, it is obvious how much passion and motivation goes in to each and every day at Sunnybank and I am looking forward to making my mark as part of this going forwards

Sherbert is our Giant African Land Snail. He is albino which is why his body is white! He is very friendly and loves to sit on your hand looking around with his long eyes! His favourite foods include melon, lettuce and cuttlefish bones!
