Hares

36 - 60 months

The Hares room has been decorated in neutral, warming colours providing the children with a welcoming environment.  The Pre-school room is situated within a separate building from the main bungalow, allowing us to offer the older children privacy and independence.  They have their own outdoor facilities, offering a constant free flow to our outdoor learning environment which includes a number of continually resourced activities such as a sand and water tray, music wall and Eco garden.  The building has its own hand washing and toileting facilities to be used by the children , encouraging independence.

The Educational programme for the Hares Group is based on the balanced development of each child, bearing in mind the learning goals for children on entering school.  Each child works on an individual programme devised according to age, ability, interest and attendance.  Development and milestones are regularly checked and constantly monitored.  All activities within the group are planned to be age-appropriate, challenging for the older children and attractive to the younger.

Staffing
Rebecca is a qualified, experienced Senior Nursery Nurse who has worked at the nursery for many years.  Rebecca has ample experience within this age group and has brought many exciting and challenging ideas to the group. Sarah P an experienced Nursery Nurse supports her with the day to day running of the group.  Together they take the Hares five days a week in order to introduce them to the 'Early Learning Goals' in preparation for school.

School Admissions
Many families of children in this age group will be thinking about school places for their little ones.  If your child is due to start primary school and you live in Derbyshire, you need to apply for your child's school place through Derbyshire County Council.  They have guides for Parents and Carers to help you with applying for your child's school place.
