Join us in our magical garden

The Garden

Our garden offers an abundance of space which is extensively used.  The space includes hard areas for bikes and scooters as well as soft, grassy areas offering protection for the children.  Our natural garden consisting of trees and plant life offers lots of light and shade for the children when needed.  It features an area for sand and water play, role play and large scale physical on our small and large scale climbing frame, accomodating all ages and abilities.  We offer a large range of provision to enable us to meet all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, both indoors and outdoors.  We plan for our outdoor learning environment separately, ensuring children experience a range of activities.  The pre-school room have their separate outdoor provision also, offering privacy for our older children.  This also offers them a free flow to the outdoor provision. In our Garden we have an area for our Mud Kitchen, giving the children chance to explore, mix together different materials and get messy!! We also have a reading den with different books available for the children to just take themselves off if they prefer a bit of quiet time. Our Construction area is a massive favourite with the children as is the Fairy Garden and Bug Hotel where the children enjoy exploring, using the magnifying glasses to search for different bugs and to see if they can spot any fairies.

The entrance to the garden is around the back of the building, offering extra security for our children.  All the external door to the premises are security locked at all times.

The Sensory Garden

The nursery has our own growing garden, which the children help to maintain.  Together we grow seasonal plants and vegetables that provide produce and experiences for the children all year round.  The garden offers an array of colours, textures and smells, which promotes the children's learning and development as we also, prepare, cook and eat our own produce.  Each group around the nursery has their own plot in our garden that they help to monitor and maintain.
